Course Description

Japanese 104 is an introductory class using the Japan Times Genki 1 textbook and workbook. Japanese 104 is an introductory class using the Japan Times Genki 1 textbook and workbook. Students of 104 should have completed Japanese 103 or its equivalent. 104 covers chapters 7-8, including:

  • Present Progressive
  • Result of a Change
  • Describing physical features
  • Te-forms of Adjectives
  • Describing the purpose
  • How to count people
  • Short Forms (Speaking casually/Quoted speech)
  • Asking someone to refrain from doing something
  • Describing what you like to do
  • The Subject marker
  • Something/ Anything/ Nothing

Please note that if you already own the 2nd edition, the instructor of 104 has said you will be able to use your 2nd edition book for this class.

 

Cancellation Policy

Classes canceled due to low enrollment (under 4 students) will receive full refunds. No refunds will be given past the registration deadline for students who wish to withdraw from the class.

Class Absence Policy

Class recordings may be made available to students with legitimate excused absences, which include family emergencies, health concerns, or other emergencies as determined by the course instructor. Class recordings will not be made outside of these excused absences and another method of catching up will be determined by the teacher.

Class Materials Policy

Any material shared in class over the course of the semester is not meant to be distributed outside of class. Students are not permitted to download and share class materials to anyone outside of class.
