Born in Tokyo, Sayuri Okayasu grew up in nearby Chiba. After graduating from the University of Hawaii, Sayuri traded in island living for the city life here in Philly. She’s been a Philadelphian for almost a decade, working as a Japanese operation specialist for a local corporation. She’s taught Japanese to people as young as 2 and as old as 82.
