Tanabata is a traditional Japanese star festival held in midsummer. Join us to tie wishes (tanzaku) to bamboo stalks around Shofuso, watch our giant star ornaments swish in the breeze, and make paper cranes for good luck. This full weekend of activities includes Japanese storytelling, traditional Japanese music, and drop-in origami and calligraphy workshops!
Our friends from Parks on Tap will be at Shofuso this weekend, with picnic lunches, small bites, and beer on tap, and the garden will be open into the evening.
Admission to the garden is FREE thanks to Parks on Tap. Admission to the house is $5; Shofuso’s house will be open to guests until 6 PM.
