We are inviting all families with children 3, 5, or 7 years old to join us for Shichi-Go-San (7,5,3). Join us in celebrating the growth and well-being of your children in this traditional holiday!

This beautiful ceremony, open to 3 and 7 year-old girls and 5 year-old boys, is an opportunity to get photos of your child dressed in traditional kimono against Shofuso’s backdrop. Included in the ticket price will be kimono dressing in one of our standard kimono and photos throughout the house by a professional photographer, as well as traditional candy.

PLEASE READ:

Our photographer, KiraKira Artistry, has different options available for parents, including hair and makeup options and special kimono rentals. If you are interested in hair and makeup or special kimono rentals please visit the KiraKira Artistry website to view those options. Then please select your preferences when signing up.

• This timeslot is for participants including hair and makeup in their reservation. Anyone who does not need hair and make up, please visit our November 5 timeslots.
• Kimono dressing does take some time (about 15-20 minutes), with hair and make up taking much longer so please be aware that children may become restless. Undressing the kimono takes about 5 minutes as well.
• If you are selecting a rental kimono through KiraKira Artistry please email info@japanphilly.org to let us know which exact kimono you would like to rent after your order is complete.
• Please arrive 15 minutes before your start time.
• If you are bringing your own kimono, please be sure that you have ALL pieces of the kimono with you
• Only purchase tickets for children dressing in kimono and getting their photos taken
• Anyone who does not select a special kimono rental will be dressed in our standard Kimono owned by Shofuso.
• Those who opt in to let us use their photos for promotional use will receive a short, commemorative video slideshow that includes their chosen photos and traditional well-wishes in Japanese or English (4k resolution). Example video here.
• Note that Shichi-Go-San is for 3 and 7 year old girls and 5 year old boys. We cannot accommodate any children over 7 years old.
