Ouchigohan! – Tonkatsu & Tofu Katsu

Join us for the March edition of the family-friendly online Japanese cooking class series Ouchigohan! and cook along with us from your own kitchen!

This month, participants will learn how to make tonkatsu and tofu katsu—golden fried cutlets that are crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. While traditionally made with pork, you’ll discover how tofu can be a healthy substitute, then incorporate your creation into a katsu sando—the Japanese sandwich that’s a staple at family picnics. Crunchy cabbage coleslaw and spicy edamame round out the menu for a balanced meal. All of the dishes in this month’s program can be prepared vegetarian and gluten-free.
