WEDDING CEREMONY RENTALS
If you are looking for a unique, quaint venue for your big day, consider our historic Japanese house and garden! Shofuso is the perfect destination for smaller wedding ceremonies in the Philadelphia area, hosting up to 40 people comfortably. The serene backdrop of our traditional Japanese garden will create so many unforgettable memories and picturesque moments for you and your guests. *Please note that we do not offer wedding receptions due to the preservation concerns that food and drink pose to our historic site.
Shofuso is open for wedding rentals every day, and availability just depends on timing. We cannot accommodate weddings while we are open to the public (Tuesday-Sunday 11am-5pm, except in Winter), so weddings must either take place after 5pm or on Mondays when we are closed. On certain occasions we will close the site early for wedding rentals, but for an additional fee. Shofuso is a small site, so our wedding ceremony capacity is set to 40 people. This includes any third party vendors such as photographers, officiants, etc. Please be sure to give us an accurate number of participants during the scheduling process.
There are four levels available for wedding ceremonies at Shofuso, depending on party size, length of rental time, and other factors. Learn more about each level below and find out which one is best suited for you! Just note that Shofuso staff must determine the level for each rental on a case by case basis.
- Level One: Up to 20 people for a 2 hour rental (5:30pm – 7:30pm Tues-Sun, all day Monday) $1500
- Level Two: Up to 40 people for a 2 hour rental (5:30pm – 7:30pm Tues-Sun, all day Monday) $1800
- Level Three: Up to 40 people for a 4 hour rental (Only on Mondays or during Winter season) $2200
- Level Four: Up to 40 people for a 4 hour rental (Available Any Day, Closing Shofuso Early at 3pm) $3500

- Guests must make all decorations and wedding plans clear to JASGP staff at least 2 weeks prior to rental
- Guests are required to share full itinerary of the event
- Guests must inform JASGP staff of any outside vendors included in the wedding, such as musicians, florists, etc.
- Guests are required to take a walkthrough of the site at least 2 weeks prior to rental
- Guests must load in, setup, and tear down all equipment, decorations, etc. within the rental window
- 50% deposit is required at the time of booking
- Guests are required to obtain certificate of public liability insurance of up to $1million for all wedding ceremony rentals
- JASGP staff holds the right to cancel any wedding held on Shofuso property for any reason
- No food or drink is permitted inside the house
- Shofuso does not host receptions under any circumstances
