Shofuso Japanese Cultural Center is proud to host an exhibition to honor Ikebana International (I.I.) Philadelphia Chapter 71 and their continued support.
The ikebana arrangements are created by talented practitioners from various schools, and will be adorning our historic house and peaceful veranda from Friday, September 5 through Sunday, September 7, with setup and opening reception taking place Thursday September 4.
About Ikebana International
Ikebana International is a non-profit, cultural, and educational organization established in 1956 and headquartered in Tokyo. Their mission is to stimulate, cultivate, and perpetuate the study of ikebana, related arts, and culture through demonstrations and public exhibitions, and to strengthen relationships among teachers and students of ikebana with a deeper purpose of establishing better relationships among all peoples through the motto: Friendship Through Flowers. Members of I.I. Chapter 71 generously provide Shofuso with beautiful ikebana arrangements weekly during the season, adding beauty to our historic site.
