Winner of the Best Japanese Film of 1967 Award from film journal Kinema Junpo, Samurai Rebellion tells the story of an established samurai (Mifune) who begins to question his loyalty after his son is coerced into marrying his Lord’s mistress. Making the best of their situation, the couple falls in love, but after the Lord demands his mistress’s return, the father and son take matters into their own hands as they mount a two-man rebellion.
