Hitomi Meyer was born and raised in Fukui prefecture, and moved to South Jersey in 2012. She teaches Japanese to children at the Japanese Language School of Philadelphia, and has been teaching Japanese at the JASGP since the summer of 2013. Prior to moving to the United States, she taught care work and social work at Fukui Medical Welfare University. Here is Meyer-sensei’s message for people interested in Japanese:
I’ve been teaching for over four years in Japan, and since this April I have been teaching Japanese and math at the Japanese Language School of Philadelphia. I really love being a teacher, and I believe that being able to enjoy the learning process along with my students is very important. I’m looking forward to helping you study Japanese!
