Leona Donaldson was born and raised in Osaka, Japan. After Leona earned two degrees—one in Japanese and another one in Education—from two universities in Japan, she moved to Oregon and earned a master’s degree in Education at Portland State University. She is a certified teacher of Japanese and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) in Oregon. She taught Japanese at public high schools in Oregon. She moved to Philadelphia to pursue a PhD in the School of Education at Drexel University in 2016.

初めまして、れおなと申します。フィラデルフィアでもまた日本語を教える機会に恵まれまして、とても嬉しく思っています。少しでも多くの方に日本語と日本文化に興味を持って頂けるお手伝いができたら光栄に思います。外国語を習得する事は決して簡単ではございませんが、楽しい学びの場を提供できるように教師として努力させて頂きたく思います。それではクラスでお会いできる日を楽しみにしています。

I am very excited to teach Japanese in Philadelphia. I am hoping to help more people get interested in Japanese language and culture. It is not easy to learn a foreign language, but I will do my best to create a fun class. I am looking forward to meeting you in class.
