During our Annual Meeting, the Japan America Society of Greater Philadelphia recognizes individuals and organizations who have engaged in an exchange between Philadelphia and Japan. Whether through education, culture, commerce, or volunteerism, our honorees have made a measurable impact. Our final honorees for 2016 are KPMG International for Excellence in Business and Jeff McLaughlin, an audit partner at KPMG, as an Outstanding Volunteer.

KPMG’s US Japanese practice consists of approximately 250 bilingual professionals located around the country serving Japanese corporations in the United States.
Jeff McLaughlin holds over 30 years of experience serving public and privately held consumer and industrial market companies from KPMG’s Philadelphia office, and handles many international clients. Jeff advises clients on the application of complex US GAAP and IFRS accounting standards and has significant experience with IPO’s, secondary offerings and mergers and acquisitions. Jeff has been on JASGP’s Board of Directors for over 15 years and is a member of the Executive Committee where he currently serves as Treasurer. Jeff has provided invaluable service and guidance to the organization – including volunteering to prune cherry trees. Most recently, he has served as a member of our Merger Committee.
