Taijutsu is the martial arts method that was practiced by the famous Ninja and Samurai warriors of feudal Japan. Learn basic postures, footwork, strikes, pressure points and joint locks. Additionally, students will have an idea of the relationship between the 5 elemental theory and martial arts and how it can be applied in self-defense situations. Wear loose-fitting, comfortable clothing. Ages 15 and up are welcome. Course instructor John Kahn, has been studying and practicing martial arts for 20 years. He received his teaching license and fifth degree black belt in 2008 from Grandmaster Masaaki Hatsumi in Noda, Japan. He continues to train under various teachers and currently teaches privately at his home in Germantown.
