Counselors in Training are youth ages 14 to 15 who assist with camp activities. Counselors in Training receive a $50 weekly stipend that is paid at the end of the five week program. CIT applicants must be at least 14 years of age, and applicants under 16 must provide a written statement by a parent or guardian acknowledging the duties and hours of employment and granting permission to work. In addition, all applicants under 18 must provide a copy of their working papers. For more information about working papers, please visit philasd.org.
Assisting campers, staff and teaching artists
Daily set-up and clean-up of workshops and programs
Maintaining a safe and respectful environment for campers
Prepping the daily afternoon anime and snack
Overseeing camper lunch clean-up and leading daily free time activities (table games, outdoor games)
Organizing supplies, wiping down tables and sweeping classroom daily
Counselors in Training report to the Senior Counselor, Education Assistant, and Education Manager
Monday through Friday – 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, with a mandatory five week commitment.
The camp schedule is Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. Counselors must be able to arrive by 8:30 am and staying until 3:30 pm daily to assist with camp set-up and breakdown.
