On this past Saturday the yearly Nihongo Philacon was held at Villanova University with great success! 40 high school students from the Philadelphia area came to the event to test their skills and compete for the ultimate prize as champion. There were three levels of difficulty that competed against each other in different rooms, with the contests staffed by Japanese teachers from around the area. After the the main event was over, the whole group gathered for a bento lunch provided by Maido and a lesson in how to make onigiri rice balls. Overall it was a fun event for both the high school students, teachers and volunteers to celebrate the Japanese language and culture. Thank you for everyone that came and made it a great event!

Here are some photos from the event!
