After my brief overview of Nintendo’s E3 announcements, readers may have been wondering, “What about our other favorite Japanese gaming giant, Sony?!” Worry no longer! I am here again today to quickly cover what excitement Sony revealed this year!
As an avid Playstation fan myself, I was pretty excited to see what Sony had to offer this year. Many of the games they announced, I was very excited to see! No new consoles were announced, but some expected that since Sony did release their newest handheld, the Vita, not too long ago.
In terms of Playstation 3 games that were announced, some titles that were included were:
– Dead or Alive 5
– Persona 4: Arena (which I did an earlier blog post on)
– BEYOND: Two Souls
– The Last of Us
– Resident Evil 6
– Tomb Raider
BEYOND: Two Souls is from the makers of Heavy Rain, one of the breakthrough titles for the PS3. The trailer for this looked amazing, taking some Playstation fans by surprise, creating a large amount of buzz about this revelation.
The Last of Us is another widely talked about title, as it has gotten lots of press. The developer, Naughty Dog, is very well known for its quality games. Due to that, many game fans are very excited to see how this project turns out.
Switching gears, the Vita had a good amount of games announced as well.
– Super Monkey Ball Banana Splitz
– Sine Mora
– Persona 4: The Golden
– LittleBigPlanet Playstation Vita
– Playstation All Stars Battle Royale
– Sly Cooper: Thieves of Time
While I haven’t picked up a Vita myself yet, I’m preparing to grab one in time for the release of Persona 4: The Golden. Originally, that game itself was what motivated me to get a Vita, but with the new Sly Cooper title, Super Monkey Ball, andLittleBigPlanet being revealed, I now have other reasons to be excited to get my hands on a Vita!
As a slight aside, a game I blogged earlier on, Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch, has a E3 Highlight video that can be found here if you are interested! (Scroll down to the E3 Highlights section, then scroll over to Day 2: Ni No Kuni…)
