I love all things かわいい (cute) and おいしい (yummy) and girl group Perfume’s latest video for their new single スパイス (spice) fits both of the requirements to be Marissa approved!
The 3 piece electro-pop group will release their new album “JPN on November 30th. This is the group’s 1st album in 2 1/2 years. The new 13 track album will be featured in a DVD and CD version.
The music video for the 1st single, スパイス (spice) was released on November 2nd. The synchronized dance moves and soft electronic beats that Perfume is known and loved for are back. The video takes on an artsy feel to it with dull colored pastels setting the mood. The girls dance on top of a table of sweet deserts, which looks like its set up for a Victorian Tea party, non nonchalantly knocking over glasses and stepping on cakes.
Many Japanese artists, including Perfume, make very extravagant albums with special features, extensive artwork and collectors items, to increase sales. Especially in the age of illegal internet downloading, it is important to go the extra mile to make the appearance so cute that fans just HAVE to buy it!
Starting next January, Perfume will go on a nationwide tour of Japan beginning January 14th at the Kobe World Hall.
Perfume’s song Polyrhythm, was included on the Cars 2 soundtrack, and the group was invited to the US movie premiere this past summer. I say, bring Perfume back to the US!
