On November 6th, JASGP spent an afternoon in Fairmount Park. The weather was sunny and 55 degrees, a perfect autumn day. About 15 volunteers, came out and learned the techniques of mulching, trimming and pruning cherry blossom trees. In order for our annual Sakura Sunday fesitval to happen in the spring, the cherry trees need to be properly treated and cared for year round. Everyone had a fun time and ended their hard work with a picnic lunch in the park.
This is the last tree maintenance event for 2011 but JASGP will be holding more in the spring. Sign up to get involved!
