Support the 2017 Annual Appeal

The Japan America Society of Greater Philadelphia adopted a new mission in 2017:

JASGP inspires mutual curiosity, understanding, and collaboration between Japan and the Philadelphia region.

This November and December, we ask you to make a financial gift to strengthen the Japan America Society of Greater Philadelphia and to support Shofuso Japanese House and Garden.

Mutual curiosity is behind everything we do. In 2017, Philadelphians had the opportunity to experience Japanese culture through programs including the Subaru Cherry Blossom Festival, the Obon Festival and Market, and monthly tea ceremony demonstrations in partnership with Urasenke Philadelphia. We also brought Japanese expertise to Philadelphia by collaborating with gardeners from Sorakuen, the municipal garden in Kobe, our sister city, and support historical research in Japan on Shofuso’s origins.

Your support helps fulfill JASGP’s mission to inspire mutual curiosity and to foster the long friendship between Philadelphia and Japan. We invite you to contribute to our annual appeal today.

On behalf of the staff and board of JASGP, I thank you for your continued support and welcome your input and participation.
