Join the Japan America Society of Greater Philadelphia at the second US-Japan Business Meetup Philly presented by AGC Chemicals. Hosted by Volpe and Koenig, P.C., we will welcome Mr. Issei Hatakeyama of JETRO (Japan External Trade Organization), a non-profit organization that connects businesses with the resources they need to successfully expand to Japan. Mr. Hatakeyama will discuss JETRO’s activities in more depth and will share information on the Japanese market and Japanese businesses in the US.

Mr. Issei Hatakeyama was appointed President of JETRO New York on July 2018. Since then, he has traveled to different states promoting JETRO’s mission to state officials, representatives, US companies, and organizations, articulating the bilateral relationship between USA and Japan. Prior to his appointment, Mr. Hatakeyama was the Director of General Coordination Office, Fukushima Reconstruction Promotion Group, Minister’s Secreteriat for METI.

For this opportunity, Mr. Hatakeyama will address the members of JASGP and the various activities that JETRO New York provides in USA, including some recent initiatives with the State of Pennsylvania. He will also address key indicators on how much Japanese companies contribute to the US economy. His objective is for JASGP members and program attendees to understand the importance of the relationship between the two countries, especially for the local economy.
