Otsukimi (moon-viewing) is a Japanese holiday which celebrates the harvest moon, and is usually celebrated in September and October. During Otsukimi, tables are set up facing the eastern horizon so revelers can watch the moon rise, and viewing tables are adorned with Japanese pampas grass and tsukimi-dango (rice dumplings).
Kick off Otsukimi Weekend with a moon-viewing party at Shofuso on Friday, September 13. Join us after hours to watch the moon rise over Shofuso while enjoying cocktails by Owl’s Brew Boozy Tea and Botanicals, bento boxes by Bryce’s Catering, and live musical performances. Festive/cocktail attire requested.
Admission is $100 per person ($75 members of the Japan America Society of Greater Philadelphia) and includes food and drinks.
